Friday, June 8th , 7-9pm “Discovering the Magic of
Hand Drumming” and the
Fun-damentals
of West African rhythm and hand drumming! An introductory workshop for those
who have yet to discover the amazing joy of the West African djembe, the
djunduns ( bass drums) , the shekeres and bells, and the beautiful songs of
West Africa.
Join
Drumz Owner and hand drum teacher, Sherry Gingras, for this upcoming eight week
session and learn this ancient language of the drum! Drumiming has been used by
indigenous peoples all over the world as a means of connecting to the heart, to
the authentic self, to the natural world that surrounds us, to each other, and
to our creative spirit! Drumming
builds and strengthens community bonds, relaxes and re-charges the body, mind
and soul, celebrates life cycles and Earth cycles, and simply provides a means
of expression for the pure joy of
being ALIVE! No previous musical experience is necessary! If you have a
heartbeat, you HAVE rhythm!
